Hi! We are Scholar-Professor duo sharing our cool research journey. It started in 2015...
I remember the day clearly, a list pinned to the bulletin board by the department, names matched with research supervisors. I scanned it, searching for mine, and there it was- my name, next to hers. I didn't know her personally, but I knew of her. Her reputation walked into rooms before she did. Brilliant research record, sharp mind, the kind of supervisor students either dreamed of or dreaded getting. I was nervous but confident. The very next day, I found out which room was hers, and I went to meet her for the first time. We talked and within minutes, the fear in the room had quietly disappeared. Then, we were figuring out a nice research idea to work for days.
One day, it clicked. An idea, born out of discussion and inquisitive attitude to know more, became the foundation of our Master's research. Those days weren't easy but I survived it and end up getting an award for my work! Then came the PhD, a deeper dive into the very topic we had worked together. Presentations, Conferences and Awards came along the way. But somewhere in the middle of all that academic rigor, a simple, human problem kept nagging at us: protein-rich, vegetarian food that fit into a hectic schedule- something convenient, something that didn't demand standing over a stove after a long day. We all struggle with busy schedules, long days, and everything life throws along the way. Cooking balanced, high-protein meals isn’t always realistic and even when you start with the best intentions, staying consistent is where it gets hard. We’ve been there too.
We started simplifying. Step by step, easing out the complexity, making it accessible for ourselves first, and then for anyone who needed. It's been more than 10years since that bulletin board moment. Ten years since a nervous knock on a supervisor's door turned into a partnership- first in research, then in purpose. We've cherished every part of this journey together. And somewhere along the way, we went on our first international trip to Dubai together to present our work. We knew we had something real, something that made people genuinely happy. The same spark we felt over spending hours together in her room, over calls and shared canteen meals.
That’s where Futurbites began.
Our Story..
And Futurbites hasn’t gone unnoticed!
